I am astounded at how much this little guy moves! It’s incredible that a week ago I still wasn’t feeling anything, and now I feel him seemingly all the time!
Last night it was actually hard to get to sleep because he was flipping and flopping and kicking (I presume) so much. I can’t really tell what is what yet, from a punch to a kick to a headbutt. It’s an odd feeling though, that’s for sure. A friend commented months ago that it’s nauseating, and she’s right. It feels like a gurgly, upset stomach. So when he decides to start moving and grooving when I’m trying to eat… it’s um… fun.
I feel more connected to him now, that’s for sure. I think Paul does too, since I tell him what I’m feeling and when the baby kicks. We were laughing about it last night in bed, cuz he was really pummeling me something good. (The books and whatnot say that when mom lays down, the swaying of regular movement stops and the wee one will wake up a bit.)
He’s kicked me directly below my belly button like a dozen times while I’ve been writing this. :)
I’m so happy that you are finally getting to really feel the little one inside you. I’m sure there will be times you’ll wish his timing would be different, but it’s still incredible.
I am thrilled to pieces that you can finally feel the little guy! The highlight of our nights were lying there counting how many times he/she could hiccup or kick/hit for any length of time. I think we lost count after about 100, but I’m pretty sure they were hiccups. :)
Yeah, it’s pretty darned amazing. It’s funny to me that it has already become so common – but it happens so often that unless it’s a big kick, it’s just kinda “Oh, he’s at it again!” I can’t wait for Paul to be able to feel him though. That’s gonna be so cool.
So amazing to feel! Even though it was nauseating at times, it is the single thing that I missed after birthing both kiddos. I just felt empty after.
It’s very cool when Paul can feel and then even later when you can visually see it. We tried to videotape it at one point. I remember sitting on the couch and seeing something just slide across the inside of my stomach. Oh and I was never good at telling what was what – arm versus leg.
