Paul will be attending all the classes too – although he’s worried he’ll be the only guy at the breastfeeding class. The sign up says guys are welcome, and everything I’ve read about breastfeeding says that the more involved Dad is, the better the chances the little man and I have of success.
AND, today after class (first one done on the extra credit assignment, WOO WOO!) I went to Target to poke at stuff and look for a baby book. To my surprise, the Pack & Play I’ve got on our registry (that’s supposed to be online-only) was in store, and set up! I was so tickled to see it in person – I pulled it off the display and gave it the full inspection. (No, I didn’t put it back up on the display myself.) I absolutely LOVE it! The design is super cute, with little embroidered bees – and the features are just great with the flip-over changing tray and the diaper-supply tray. Combine all that with the fantastic price of $99 – my frugal (ok, cheap!) little heart is all a-flutter!
I can’t believe how fast things seem to be moving now. We’re down to double digits on our countdown ticker! There’s so much still left to do, but yet we’re both starting to get excited to meet this little guy who has already taken over our lives!
Oh Mylanta! I’m getting super excited right along with you guys! All of your classes are going to prep you for the crash course of parenthood in July! Make sure to stock up on some Lansinoh Lanolin, it is a nursing cream and it helped me immensely for the short time that I nursed. I wanted to nurse longer, but I dried up within weeks of having RJ (no matter HOW much water I drank), Little Jimmy was allergic to me (no matter what I ate), and I couldn’t keep up with Olivia’s appetite, so we slowly switched over to formula. But this cream felt like heaven on the girls after being gummed to death. lol
Exciting! Hans went to all the classes with me, including the breastfeeding. He had similar thoughts as Paul, but everyone at that class had significant other or support person there with them. Hans was very engaged with breastfeeding after that and was huge on getting the “right” pump and such. It was fun!
I wonder if that stuff would help at all now, considering the stupid amount of pain I’m having with the girls already. (I read somewhere that the changes that start during puberty don’t actually finish until pregnancy…. I never remember having pain like this when I was a kid!)
I was thinking, wow, that’s a lot of classes, but you’re pretty much covering all the topics my 8 week class will be covering!! I have my hubby coming to all the classes, as well as my cousin who is going to be my backup labor coach :) I just hit 9 weeks today, ieee it’s getting closer!!!
